A Song for Humanity: Peace at Christmastime by Tina Micula

I wrote an article explaining some of the historical background to Tina Micula's new video. You can catch it at my other blog, Plutonian Mac:

Here is an excerpt, without the photographs however:

How many of you know about the Christmas Truce of 1914, when, in late December, Christmas Eve to be exact, German troops spontaneously began p… Continue

Invictus as Inspiration for Human Rights and a Better World

This an interesting phenomena. The new Clint Eastwood movie, Invictus, is becoming more than a movie. It is
becoming an inspiration. This is much more than a sports story, but a story about uniting an entire nation through sports. I saw it tonight, Sunday Dec 13 and it was very moving, highly recommended. Clint Eastwood deserves a humanitarian award!

Check out this article about the movie and a big human rights event that just took place in LA during the opening:… Continue

Speech Writing: How To Write A Good One?

Speech writing is in lots of ways similar writing a paper, apart from that there is no penalty for spelling and punctuation mistakes. You should not try to write words in your speech that you are not relaxed pronouncing or don't know the meaning of because it can lead to a less fluently delivered speech.

To be able to write a high-quality speech is a lot like making a good cake. Having the right elements is key for it's success. Every… Continue

Notes

A thousand to rally for a public option today in Norfolk!

Actually the number is 1,153 as of 1 AM today according to the on line sign up sheet.

I'm told by a couple of the organizers that there are duplicate signatures. I suspect there are a few "Peter Cottontail's
 and H.R. Puffenstuff's " signing up.

Nonetheless, it's gonna be a scene!

See you in the streets!
